I'm a guitar and piano teacher, performer, and composer with nearly two decades of experience — working with students of all ages and backgrounds, from beginners finding their feet to adults rediscovering a lifelong passion.
I hold a BMus (Hons) from Chichester University (UK), an RSL Rockschool Music Teacher's Diploma, and I'm a SACE-registered educator, committed to professional, student-centred music education.
Before relocating to Cape Town, I spent many years teaching at some of Johannesburg's most respected independent schools — including St John's College, St Stithian's College, and Sandton Junior School. Since moving to the Cape, I have also taught at Wynberg Girls Junior School, and I continue to work with a number of schools in the Southern Peninsula area. Across both cities, I have worked with several private music teaching organisations, building a teaching practice shaped by a wide range of students, contexts, and musical goals. That experience has shaped a teaching approach that is rigorous where it needs to be, and deeply human where it counts.
I'm now based in Fish Hoek on the Southern Peninsula, where I offer in-person lessons by travelling to students' homes across the area — including Fish Hoek, Noordhoek, Kommetjie, Simon's Town, Muizenberg, and surrounding communities. I also teach online students across South Africa and internationally, currently working with students in Johannesburg, the UK, the Netherlands, and beyond.
My teaching is designed for creative, introspective, and independent-minded people — those who see music not just as a skill to acquire, but as a way to express themselves and make sense of the world. I work with both guitar and piano, focusing on strong musical foundations alongside creativity, technique, and genuine personal expression. For keyboard students, I'm equally comfortable supporting contemporary and popular styles alongside classical fundamentals.
Lessons are built around you — your goals, your pace, your taste. I use multi-camera online lesson setups, personalised practice plans, and flexible lesson structures to make sure every session is as effective and enjoyable as possible. I also offer group lessons for those who thrive in a shared learning environment.
